A generously proportioned 1L jug Crystal Pitcher with handle. Ideal for iced water, homemade lemonade or your favorite drink! Make an impression with your guests while you entertain in style.
When the Vikings invaded Waterford they appreciated its strategic value as a major trading port. Both dry and wet goods were shipped by barrel. The barrel makers or "Coopers" as the trade was known continued their craft right upto the 20th century.
In designing the Cooper Tankard for Cashs Ireland, Martin Croke invokes the memory of the craftsmen and the part they played in Waterford Ireland's history. Two horizontal bands of tight diamond cutting represent the metal hoopsthat bind a barrel holding it secure. Placed between these are long and short upright cuts denoting the wooden staves from which the barrel is formed.
