H: 5.5", Capacity: 15oz.
Named after the ice age Gap of Dunloe in Country Kerry, Ireland, this stunning new pattern from Cashs Ireland will make a wonderful addition to your bar. Designer Martin Croke of Waterford, Ireland, found an inspiration in the finger lakes that run through the gap in the mountains. The Gap of Dunloe runs between two stunning mountain ranges, the MacGillycuddy Reeks and Purple Mountain in the west Ireland Ring of Kerry mountains, and was created naturally sometime 25,000 years ago during the last ice age of Ireland.
The olive cuts on the pattern are reminiscent of the ice age finger lakes, and ringed on both sides with the cut representing the two mountain ranges. There is nothing more inspiring for a great cocktail glass than an ice age lakes surrounded by mountains.
The olive cuts are the hardest cuts in the Master Cutter repertoire. To execute the cuts, the glass has to be hand blown with an even thickness and exact diameter. In addition each cut has to be perfect in its size and depth in order to meet exactly on the opposite side of the glass.
A true marvel in design, sparkle and very technically demanding production.
